APPLICATION CHECK LIST

BEFORE completing the application, please complete the steps below:

• Apply for Riverside County Office of Education childcare subsidy: LINK HERE

• Create an account on the Parent Portal: LINK HERE

• Military Families: Complete the Mission Youth Outreach application to waive the $25 annual membership fee: LINK HERE

• Gather the following for your Scholarship Application (scholarship applications will not be approved if any documentation is missing):
• A letter explaining how this scholarship will help your family
• Most Recent Federal Income Tax Return
• If not required to file, provide an IRS non-filing letter
• Proof of income for the last 3 pay periods for all household earners (pay stubs, disability, unemployment, foster care, etc.)
• Most recent bank statements
• Alimony/child support documentation
• Verification of participation in public assistance programs (e.g., CalFresh, HUD/Section 8, TANF, SSI, Medi-Cal), showing the recipient name and current benefit amount
• Confirmation of RCOE Subsidy submission

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How long does it take for an application to be approved?

A: It takes two weeks for scholarships to be approved and longer during start of summer or if all documentation is not provided.

Q: Can my child start the program while I wait for the scholarship to be approved?

A: Yes, however all fees must be paid in full until the scholarship is approved. Approval of scholarship is not guaranteed.

Q: Do the scholarships expire?

A: Yes, scholarships expire on June 30th every year. Families are required to complete a new application with updated documentation.

Q: Why do I have to apply for assistance through the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE)?

A: RCOE may be able to cover all or part of your childcare costs through state subsidy programs. Applying helps determine if your fees can be paid through this funding, allowing the Club to reserve scholarships for families with greater need.

Q: How much of a discount is the scholarship?

A: Typically, Club scholarships will discount dues between 20% to 75% off, with some exceptions due to critical circumstances.

Q: Are there military discounts?

A: Yes, through Mission Youth Outreach, your child's $25 annual membership fee will be waived/refunded. However you must complete the application in the checklist.
