ABOUT US

Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County provides academic support, sports, arts, S.T.E.M., career readiness, and leadership programs through before and after-school programs and day camps at its four site locations in Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, and the surrounding communities. The mission of Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County is to inspire, enable, and support all youth to realize their full potential as successful, responsible, and impactful members of the community

In 1990, a small group of community leaders recognized the need for a safe place for local youth to go before and after school. Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County began at Margarita Middle School in Temecula, California, providing after-school programs for middle school youth. In 1994, the Club expanded to a facility in Old Town Temecula, followed by programming in Murrieta at Shivela Middle School in 1997. In 1998, a permanent Clubhouse was established at California Oaks Sports Park.

As the needs of Southwest Riverside County continued to grow, so did the Club. Programming expanded into Lake Elsinore, including the Lakeland Village Clubhouse at Lakeland Village Community Center. In June 2006, the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians built the 5,500-square-foot flagship Pechanga Great Oak Clubhouse at Kent Hintergardt Park in Temecula's Redhawk community.

In 2025, Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County celebrated an important return to the Lake Elsinore community with the reopening of Alberhill Ranch Clubhouse. After a devastating flood forced the Clubhouse to close its doors for several years, the restored location once again became a place where local youth could learn, grow, and connect.

The Club's reach continued to grow with the addition of Oak View Ranch Clubhouse in Murrieta. Made possible through a partnership with National CORE and Hope Through Housing, the Clubhouse brings Boys & Girls Club programming directly to youth and families living within the Oak View Ranch community, creating greater access to safe spaces, caring mentors, and enriching opportunities.

Today, thousands of kids and teens throughout Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, and neighboring communities need a safe and positive place to go outside of school hours. Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County helps fill the critical space between home and school, providing Club members with mentorship from caring, professional adults and access to experiences and opportunities that help them discover their potential.

From academic support, STEM, arts, leadership development, career readiness, and healthy lifestyles to unique experiences beyond the Clubhouse, Club members are encouraged to explore their interests, develop new skills, build confidence, and dream bigger. These experiences create memories and opportunities that can have a lasting impact.

More than three decades after opening its doors, Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County continues to grow alongside the communities it serves while remaining committed to its mission.
