“We are so excited to begin the search for the 2013’s Boys and Girls Club IDOL winners,” said Mary Ann Edwards, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County. “The talent continues to grow each year and we applaud these brave young singers for setting the stage for such an amazing event.”
The Boys & Girls Club Idol is a collaborative event presented by the Rotary Club of Old Town Temecula, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County and a dedicated group of community professionals. The first round of auditions will be held in May and June and a group of approximately 30 to 40 kids will be invited back to audition in our semi-final show in August for a chance to compete in the finals on October 6th at the Old Town Community Theatre. Contestants must sign up online at least 24 hours prior to audition date at www.bgcidol.com.
“We created the Boys & Girls Club Idol to provide the kids in our community the opportunity to showcase their talent and experience a singing competition modeled around the popular TV show,” said Steve Amante, BGCSWC Chairman, Boys & Girls Club Idol Founder & Event Chair. “In addition, BGC IDOL raises urgently needed funds to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County is more than a safe place for kids to hang out after school; it is a place where great futures start. Their programs, activities and events inspire and enable our youth to realize their full potential. They offer programs that foster both character and career development. In addition, they have well developed activities in the performing arts, health and fitness, as well as a full recreational sports program.
