The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County offers programs designed to guide and encourage youth of all ages to become successful and pproductive adults.

Club members in the computer roomWorking in tandem with parents and teachers, our professionally trained staff integrates character building activities into their daily schedule focusing on our five core programs:

  • Character & Leadership Development
  • Education & Career Development
  • Health & Life Skills
  • The Arts
  • Sports, Fitness & Recreation

In addition, our facilities are constantly receiving upgrades and newer equipment to support the programs.  Our computer labs are less than two-years-old, and by the end of the year, the labs will have all new computers.


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County offers the following programs. Each program is designed to fulfill one or more of the club’s five core programs. Additional programs are added throughout the year.

Power Hour: Homework help for kids with an added educational component. Earn daily points for a monthly fieldtrip.

Project Learn: Around the World: Celebrates a new country each month with weekly activities and a monthly party.

Fitness Authority: Teaches kids all about fitness, nutrition, and team work in a fun setting.

Image Makers: Shows kids the basics of photography and lets them practice it.

Computer Club: A Junior leaders program that allows club members to help facilitate and provide input on the programs in the computer lab.

NetSmartz: An Internet safety program that teaches club members how to be safe on the internet.

Art: Allows club members to express themselves artistically while developing skills.

Graphic Design: An art program that incorporates technology. Kids recreate computer art that is designed to teach the basics of Graphic Design.

Web Design: Club members learn web design and are exposed to html.

Smart Moves: A drug and alcohol educational program that focuses on self-esteem and good decision making.

Poetry Club: A weekly way for kids to learn to express themselves and their creativity in the form of writing.

Lil’ Chefs: Teaches children the basics of cooking with the added pleasure of sampling their own work!

Advisory Club: A way for the older club members to express their desires within the club which stresses leadership skills and decision making.

Smart Girls: Focuses on teaching girls self-esteem and self-worth in a group setting.

Ultimate Journey: An environmental program that shows children the problem with pollution and the importance of our environment.

Paint/Photo Program: Kids learn to use a variety of popular paint and photo manipulation programs to create projects.

Magic School Bus: Kids explore the animal and insect kingdoms with rich multimedia learning.

Typing: Kids learn and practice typing with Mavis Beacon.

Microsoft Tech Club: Kids learn to use Microsoft Office and other Microsoft programs.

Junior Leaders: This program develops leadership skills.

Wise Guys: Engages young men in interactive discussions and activities that reinforce positive behavior.
